Spring Break in New England with Mika-sensei

This spring, I am available to take GKA students and families on a school tour in New England and surrounding states. Several types of tours can be arranged during the week of March 23.

Prep School Tour - campus tours of boarding schools for grades 9-12. I will help select 5-7 appropriate ones from a list of over one hundred schools in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.

Junior Boarding School Tour - there is a handful of junior boarding schools (for middle school students). I will arrange campus tours and meetings.

University Tour - tours of universities will be arranged on request.

Sign-up and Cancellation Policy 2009

Sessions 1 and 2 Sign-up and Cancellation Policy

We are accepting registration for Summer Session 1 and 2 for 2009. You may send in the application on-line or by post.
Registration results will be notified by e-mail whenever possible. If you do not have an e-mail address, please provide a fax number. If space is available, you will be notified within 2-3 days. If you do not receive a "receipt of application" e-mail from GKA within the next few days, please send an e-mail to info@globalkidsacademy.com. A non-refundable deposit is due within 5 business days to complete the registration.

The deposit for all other programs is Yen 30,000. If space is not available, we will automatically place you on the waiting list and notify you. Once the waiting list clears, you will be asked whether you wish to take up the spot. If the answer is yes, the non-refundable deposit is due within 5 business days to complete the registration.

Session 1 June 15 - July 17, 2009

Session 2 July 20 - August 21, 2009


Cancellation Policy
Cancellation will result in loss of deposit. However, it is possible to switch weeks (keeping same program content) within a session up to one week before the start of the session. In some circumstances, we will try to accommodate requests to switch weeks across sessions and programs.

Global Kids Academy States Goals for 2008

Have you made your new year's resolution for this year? The students at GKA have and they were featured in the Dec 21-Jan 3 issue of the Weekender magazine! Eiichiro, Jason, Jun, Kenichi, Kent, Kitty, Michael, Momoko, Riku and Sarah share their goals like trying to help out around the house more and devoting more time to community service. GKA students have a variety of exciting goals and it looks like we are having a great year ahead of us!

Winter Program 2007

The special winter program was packed with joyful projects like plate making and kyoketsuzome (Japanese paper dyeing). We also went on a scavenger hunt to look for all the festive decorations around the city. We wrapped up the program with a winter concert full of holiday music and a play!

Global Kids Speak Out on Global Warming

We are very proud to let you know that two of our senior students, Rena and Michael (both age 13) had their essays on Global Warming published in the Weekender magazine!
