Anything Can Happen Day

Friday is Anything Can Happen Day

We are very fortunate to be located in an exciting city surrounded by interesting people. To take full advantage of cultural and enrichment opportunities and to complement our theme and project-based approach, we set aside this day for free form fun. The students may go on field trips or invite guest speakers. Sometimes, we may attend a show or concert. Other times, we may visit a museum or an art gallery. Or we may simply visit the work place of our parents and friends or a store, a factory, a school… anything that expands our horizons and make us think about the context of our lives. To give one example of a special opportunity, our summer students in Bilingual Projects - Adventures in Tokyo had a chance to record a music CD with Hayami Yu, a professional singer who has starred as Cosette in Les Miserables and Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. Not only did the children participate in singing in the recording studio, they also had a chance to interview a bilingual star who is successful as a bridge between cultures.
