The Chronicles of Narnia
Written By: C.S. Lewis
Essay By: M.K.
This is what I think is interesting about the chronicles of Narnia. In this story, unpredictable things can always happen.
One of the interesting things is that the same characters go back and forth into Narnia. For example, they go to Narnia by a magical wardrobe. Also, they were brought to Narnia by a magical horn that always brings help. The interesting part about that is that in the beginning, they always don’t realize they are in Narnia.
Another interesting thing is the time difference between Narnia and the real world. In Narnia, thirty years would be equaled to zero seconds in the real world. Another fact is that, when they come back to the real world, they are the same age and wear the exact same clothes as when they went to Narnia.
The third interesting thing about this series is the mysterious characters. Most of the animals in Narnia can talk. They are all fictional because some of them are magical or Elves, Dwarves, Fauns, Dryads, Centaurs and other unusual characters. Also, there are magically disappearing animals and always scare others.
This series has the most wonderful fiction stories I’ve ever read or seen, so if you have a chance, please read it. Once you start reading it, you won’t be able to stop.
Kildee House
By Rutherford Montgomery
Essay by L. L.
Hello my name is Emma Lou. Today I will tell you about my two best friends.
I have always lived in the wilds, but that doesn’t mean that I have always lived in one place. When I was very small I moved near the hundred acre land owned by an old man, Jerome Kildee, and just recently, Jerome the nice old man himself had decided to move up from the city to his hundred acre land. He built a kind of tree house, except the tree house was on the foot of the giant RED WOOD TREE!
I’ve always loved animals and some of my hobbies at home are to milk the cow and feed the chicken. I also love the skunks and raccoons that live up at Jerome’s tree house. Can you guess how many skunks and raccoons live up in Jerome’s tree house? There are 25 rare spotted skunks and 30 raccoons. I taught the skunks tricks. They follow the eraser tip of the pencils and when I shake them up and down they start doing handstands. I especially liked Mrs. Grump who was killed one day.
Mrs. Grump was killed by Donald’s stupid dog, a coward that only bullies animals that are much smaller than it self. After Mrs. Grump had died we named her Charmine the lovely lady.
I only had one best friend Jerome until one day an unbelievable coincidence happened. When Jerome invited us both (Donald and me,) to a feast, we managed to help each other, and became great friends. Donald brought corn and gave them to the raccoons. He also offered me to feed them the corn so that he could hold the raccoons while I was feeding them. I showed Donald my skunk tricks and he was totally amused by them and complimented me. After dinner we discussed what we would do with the skunks and raccoons. The solution was that Donald would send fliers up to the Zoos nearby. It turned out that more than twelve Zoos wanted the spotted skunks because they were such rare animals.
I would always be happy if my two best friends would always be there for me and I hope that they won’t have to go away.
