Weekender Article - Tokyo's Best Summer Camps
Global Kids Academy was featured in the May issue of the Weekender magazine as one of the best summer camps in Tokyo!
Here is an excerpt from the Weekender article by Kit Nagamura.
Global Kids Academy (GKA) features after-school dual language education during the school year, but over the summer opens a full day schedule. Founded by alumni of Nishimachi International School and ASIJ, GKA has two summer sessions for school-age kids (Adventures in Tokyo with choice of intensive language study: June 27-July 15; and Summer Camp: July 19-Aug. 19) and pre-school Early Advantage Program. Registration begins Apr. 15 (tel. 03-5447-1913; www.globalkidsacademy.com). Primary founder Mika Fukutomi is rightfully proud of the creative and challenging fieldtrips the academy puts together. In the past years, campers have engaged in neighborhood scavenger hunts, recorded music CDs with famous singers, taken trips to Kasai Sea Life park, and participated in authentic tea ceremonies. Students are encouraged to document their experiences in ways that synthesize their creativity.
