Visit to Virgin Cinema

Thanks to the generosity of F's parents, we went to Virgin Toho Cinema and had a tour. We saw a theater, the concession stand, box office and rooftop garden. When asked about interesting things we saw, the students had a lot to say.

L- I liked the seat going back in the premiere theater, because it is fun.

F- I liked seeing my Mommy and Daddy.

H- I liked the rice paddy pond. It had minnows and underwater pond creatures. It was on the top of the movie theater.

J- I liked the huge movie theater where 652 people can be seated. Famous people, like the prime minister, could sit on the balcony and use a special elevator.

K- I liked the flowers in the garden on top of the building.

E- We got to sit down in the chairs that the important people get to sit on. They were so soft! And you got a really good view.

Ar- The chair, it moved! I liked that, because I can sleep. I want to watch a movie in that theater

T- I liked the chairs too, because they are comfortable.

Ry- I liked the theater sofa for special people, because it's fluffy and soft.

Re- We went to the popcorn counter, and workers showed us how to make some popcorn. First, you put the kernels and the butter powder and salt powder in a machine and wait for a while. Then it started to pop. WE were able to eat some.

Ma- There is a special garden for people who go to premier films. It's about halfway up the building, and they have benches you can sit on. There are plants and trees around the fence on the outside. At night, they light up the garden. You can see Tokyo Tower.

A- The elevator that we went in was made all of glass. It was a private elevator that went up to the special seating for famous people.

Ru- We walked through a huge archway that was lit from the floor. It felt like a glowing cave.

We received generous gifts from the theater: a ROBOTS watch and a miniature light saber! They also gave us an actual piece of the film from the movie THE INCREDIBLES. What a great trip! One student commented that it was the best field trip he had ever been on.
