As some of us had studied about Germany throughout the week, the children were very excited to go. With their scavenger hunt sheet in one hand, we started on our adventure. When we arrived after a 15 minute walk, the first thing we did was take a photo for the D-Haus newspaper! While we waited for the newspaper to be printed, we looked through an art gallery. The children were amazed at the interesting pieces and sculptures. We visited a small library, a playroom filled with stuffed animals and toys, and a small exhibition on Friedensdorf International (Germany Peace Town). We stepped outside to the inner yard where we found an interesting water wall. The 5.3 meter high wall dropped water in certain patterns showing words, such as “Germany”, “Welcome” and “Football”. During our adventure, we all filled out the questions on our scavenger hunt sheet. After taking a break while watching people play in the Footsalu court, we said good bye and walked back to GKA. It was a good experience for the children and they all enjoyed their trip to “Germany”.

１１月１１日の金曜日にドイツ体感スクエアのD-ハウスへ遠足に行きました。旧自治大学の敷地を使って行われているこのフェアーでは「ドイツの今」を見、聞き、触れ、体感することができました。

一週間を通してドイツのことを勉強してきた子供たちにとって、この遠足は素晴らしい体験となりました。GKAから歩いて１５分のところにあるD-HAUSに着き、子供たちが最初に訪れたのは毎日新聞D-HAUS編集室でした。そこで子供たち全員で写真を撮り、「号外」を制作していただきました。次に見学したのはアートギャラリーでした。ここにはとてもユニークな作品が展示されており、子供たちはとても不思議そうに見ていました。他にも、ドイツの児童文学者ケストナー氏の作品の展示会やたくさんのおもちゃやぬいぐるみのあるプレイルーム、ドイツの子供たちだけで運営される擬似都市「ミニミューへン」の写真や模型の展示会、ドイツ平和村の子供たちの原画展なども回りました。たくさんの展示会を見学した後、広々とした中庭に出てみると、そこには不思議な壁がありました。よく見ると、高さ5.3メートルから落下する水は「GERMANY」、「FOOTBALL」など、色々な言葉を映し出していました。最後に子供たちはお茶を飲みながら隣のフットサル場を眺めながら一休みしました。見学中、子供たちは回りながら先生が用意したパンフレットの質問に次々と答えていきました。この見学を通して、子供たちはたくさんの新しい発見に巡り会えたようです。
