・Dates: July 23 - August 31, 2007 (sign up by the week)
・Time: 9:00-15:00
・Concept: This summer day camp provides children with language rich activities in the center of Tokyo. Throughout the day, the children enjoy indoor and outdoor activities. The activities are based on several themes. Last year, our main focus was on animals, but each week, we focused on a group of animals living in a different habitat. For example, one week, we studied animals living in the jungle and visited the Tropical Greenhouse in Yume no Shima to understand the environment. Another week, when we studies animals of the Savannah, we watched the movie, "Madagascar". For indoor acitivites, we did many creative activities, such as making collages, creating an animal figure with clay, painting, and even making an aquarium with a shoe box! The children kept a journal where they wrote down what they learned, pasted pictures, and recorded their activities. To keep activities interesting and age-appropriate, we created sub-groups. The older children were able to create a summer survey to ask people in public. They made a poster to show their results on a graph, and presented it to the rest of the group. This summer camp is a place where each child can enjoy and experience a multi-cultural environment in the center of Tokyo.
