Camp Seattle Summer 2005

Camp Seattle 2005 was a great success. Our students enjoyed their stay in Seattle and came back with lots of stories to tell. Alison Roberts, an elementary school teacher with ESL extpertise, lead a great program. The students experienced homestay for a week and enjoyed field trips and enjoyed activities they could not have experienced in Tokyo. In the morning, the students had English classes and the afternoons were filled with adventures. They went to see a Mariners game at Safeco Field, picked tons of berries on a berry farm and made pies, experienced Native American culture on Blake Island, enjoyed outdoor fun at Dungeness Spit on the Olympic Peninsula, shopping, eating at various restaurants, visited the beach, and enjoyed nature walks. The students experienced the daily life in America, and although it may have been challenging for them, they came back with so much accomplished. They made countless memories with the host families and friends. This one week camp has become a fulfilling exerience that they will always be proud of.
